O Lord, You are the planter of the branch of my being.
O Lord, the branch of my existence You have planted
So its graceful bough swayed in the garden of divine oneness.
So it has flourished in the garden of oneness

You watered it with overflowing water from Your bounty; will
You have watered it with the water of Your bounty, so will
You see it turn dry after being tender and fresh?
You see it change after being a fresh branch, O Lord?

Far be it from You, my Lord! You nurtured it, and it grew,
Never, my Lord, for You have nurtured it, so it grew
And You are its guardian in the garden of remembrance.
And You are in the garden of remembrance its keeper

So how often the predawn breeze blew upon it, and how often
So many dawns have poured upon it, and how many
Its breaths adorned it—its precious treasures among them.
Precious breaths have descended on it and blessed it
