من حضرة الفتح بنُور الشهود

O garden of fragrance, with rose blossoms,

O meadow of fragrance with the light of roses

from the presence of spiritual opening, with the light of witnessing.

From the presence of opening with the light of witnesses

يا حبّذا ذاك الشذا

يا حبّذا ذاك الشذا

إذ يندي بالوَرد والوِرد

إذ يندي بالوَرد والوِرد

Oh, how lovely is that fragrance,

How excellent is that aroma

as it grows dewy with roses and the devotional litany.

When the wind murmurs gently with roses and myrtle

ريح الصبا رنّح لين القدود

ريح الصبا رنّح لين القدود

فتنثني بمعطفٍ كالخرود

فتنثني بمعطفٍ كالخرود

The east wind has made the supple figures sway,

The morning breeze bowed softly swaying branches

so they bend at the waist like a bashful maiden.

So it bends with a cloak like silk

فاعجب لغصن النقا

فاعجب لغصن النقا

بالقدّ والعقد والبرد

بالقدّ والعقد والبرد

So marvel at the branch of the sand dune,

How strange is the branch of sapling

with its figure, necklace, and mantle.

With trunk and beads and coolness

في روضة الذكر وورد الورود

في روضة الذكر وورد الورود

مراتع الظبي الغزال الشرود

مراتع الظبي الغزال الشرود

In the garden of remembrance and the roses' litany

In the meadow of remembrance and rose of roses

lie the grazing grounds of the antelope, the elusive gazelle.

Pasture of gazelle, deer, shy and restless

فارتع بها يا ذا البها

فارتع بها يا ذا البها

بالوجد والكدّ والجدّ

بالوجد والكدّ والجدّ

So graze there, O bearer of splendor,

So graze in it, o you of yearning

with ecstasy, toil, and earnestness.

With fervor, strife, and effort

بُلبلُها من فوق تلك القدود

بُلبلُها من فوق تلك القدود

يشدو من الغيب لعين الشهود

يشدو من الغيب لعين الشهود

Its nightingale, from above those figures,

Its nightingale above those branches

sings from the unseen to the witnessing eye.

Sings from the unseen for the eye of witnesses

فاطرب على هذا الغنا

فاطرب على هذا الغنا

بالورد والندّ بالوجد

بالورد والندّ بالوجد

So be enraptured by this song,

So be enchanted by this singing

with roses and fragrant incense, with ecstasy.

With roses, dew, and fervor

ليس سوى واحد في الوجود

ليس سوى واحد في الوجود

فاشهده واطلق حجاب القيود

فاشهده واطلق حجاب القيود

There is none but One in existence;

There is none but One in existence

so behold Him, and cast off the veil of bonds.

So witness Him and remove the veil of restraints

جلّ تعالى ذو البقا

جلّ تعالى ذو البقا

عن عدّ أو حدّ أو ندّ

عن عدّ أو حدّ أو ندّ

Majestic and exalted is the Everlasting,

Exalted and High, Everlasting

beyond number, limit, or equal.

Beyond count, limit, or equal

نحمده وهو الغفور الودود

نحمده وهو الغفور الودود

فكم حبانا كلّ فضلٍ وجود

فكم حبانا كلّ فضلٍ وجود

We praise Him, and He is the All-Forgiving, the All-Loving;

We praise Him and He is Forgiving, Loving

for how often He has granted us every grace and bounty,

So how He has blessed us with all perfection and existence

لا سيّما بالمصطفى

لا سيّما بالمصطفى

إذ يهدي للرشد والحمد

إذ يهدي للرشد والحمد

especially through the Chosen One,

Especially with the Chosen One

as he guides to right conduct and praise.

As he guides to righteousness and praise

صلّى عليه ما أضاء الوجود

صلّى عليه ما أضاء الوجود

بنوره الماحي ظلام الجحود

بنوره الماحي ظلام الجحود

May God bless him as long as existence shines

Blessings upon him as long as existence shines

with his light, which effaces the darkness of denial,

With his light erasing the darkness of denial

والآل والصحب الألى

والآل والصحب الألى

في المجد والسعد والقصد

في المجد والسعد والقصد

and his family and Companions, who

And his family and companions

abide in glory, felicity, and right purpose.

In glory, bliss, and purpose
