بسؤال الحسنى لكم والزيادهْ

بسؤال الحسنى لكم والزيادهْ

My prayers for you in absence are as vivid as if we were face to face,

asking for the best and more for you,

ونجاح الأمور في كلّ قصدٍ

ونجاح الأمور في كلّ قصدٍ

لحبيبي محمّد بن سعاده

لحبيبي محمّد بن سعاده

and success in every aim

for my beloved Muhammad ibn Sa'ada.

فعليه منّي سلامٌ تواخى

فعليه منّي سلامٌ تواخى

بالتحايا البديعة المستجاده

بالتحايا البديعة المستجاده

To him I send a greeting joined

with beautiful, cherished salutations.

منه قد جاءني لطيفُ كتابٍ

منه قد جاءني لطيفُ كتابٍ

مثبتٍ حفظَ عهده ووداده

مثبتٍ حفظَ عهده ووداده

From him a gracious letter has reached me,

affirming that he has kept his pledge and affection.

يذكر الشوق للمحبّ الّذي في

يذكر الشوق للمحبّ الّذي في

حبّه قد شجا الغرام فؤاده

حبّه قد شجا الغرام فؤاده

It speaks of longing for the beloved whose

heart love for him has filled with sorrow.

قدّر الله بالبعاد عليه

قدّر الله بالبعاد عليه

وهو طوع القضا بحكم الإراده

وهو طوع القضا بحكم الإراده

God has decreed separation for him,

and he submits to the decree of divine will.

إن تناءت منّا الجسوم فللأر

إن تناءت منّا الجسوم فللأر

واح جمعٌ في الغيب فيه الإفاده

واح جمعٌ في الغيب فيه الإفاده

Though our bodies have moved apart, our souls

meet in the unseen, and in that lies benefit.

غير أنّي أرجو التداني قريباً

غير أنّي أرجو التداني قريباً

لأرى لي بعد البعاد إعاده

لأرى لي بعد البعاد إعاده

Yet I hope we will draw near again soon,

so that after separation I may see our reunion.

ثمّ أرجو دعاءكم كلَّ وقتٍ

ثمّ أرجو دعاءكم كلَّ وقتٍ

وهو منّا لكم نراه عباده

وهو منّا لكم نراه عباده

Then I ask for your prayers at every moment,

as we pray for you and regard it as worship.

ولكلّ الإخوان من كلّ خلٍّ

ولكلّ الإخوان من كلّ خلٍّ

روّق الصدق والوفا أوراده

روّق الصدق والوفا أوراده

And for all the brothers, from every friend

whose sincerity and loyalty have purified his devotions:

منح الله جمعهم نور فتحٍ

منح الله جمعهم نور فتحٍ

يتجلّى لهم بختم السعاده

يتجلّى لهم بختم السعاده

May God grant their gathering the light of an opening

that shines upon them with the seal of happiness.
