حبّي تجلّى بالجمال فاعتلى قلبي

وسقاني صافي الزلال وصفا شربي

My beloved revealed himself in beauty, and my heart rose high.

My love manifested in beauty and ascended my heart

And he gave me pure, limpid water to drink, and my draught grew clear.

And quenched my thirst with pure drink

من هداه طاب الورود وسناه باهي الشهود

من هداه طاب الورود وسناه باهي الشهود

ألا يا ولهان بالحبّ أطلق القيود

ألا يا ولهان بالحبّ أطلق القيود

Through his guidance, coming to the water grew sweet, and his radiance is splendid to behold.

He whose guidance makes roses thrive and whose brilliance adorns witnesses

Ah, O you distraught with love, cast off the bonds.

Oh enraptured one, unleash the shackles of love

واحتس مدام الوصل الصافي

واحتس مدام الوصل الصافي

من صفا الدنان

من صفا الدنان

And sip the wine of pure union,

And taste the pure wine of union

From the purity of the wine-jars.

From the purity of closeness

يا نديمي أجلي الكؤس واسقني الصافي

يا نديمي أجلي الكؤس واسقني الصافي

من حميّا تبدي الشموس بالسنا الصافي

من حميّا تبدي الشموس بالسنا الصافي

O my drinking companion, polish the cups and give me the pure draught,

My friend, pass the cup and serve me the pure drink

Of potent wine that reveals the suns in pure radiance.

From ardour the suns shine with pure radiance

ظلّها إمداد الوجود شربها نعيم الخلود

ظلّها إمداد الوجود شربها نعيم الخلود

ألا يا ندمان يا صحبي قد بدا السعود

ألا يا ندمان يا صحبي قد بدا السعود

Its shade sustains existence; drinking it is the bliss of eternity.

Its shade sustains existence, its drink eternal bliss

Ah, O drinking companions, O my friends, good fortune has dawned.

Oh companions, prosperity has emerged

فادخلوا مقام الأصل النافي

فادخلوا مقام الأصل النافي

نقطة العيان

نقطة العيان

So enter the station of the source that negates

So enter the abode of the absolute truth

The point of direct vision.

Then perform the prayer of peace for the original guidance

ثمّ صلّ صلاة السلام للهدى الأصلي

ثمّ صلّ صلاة السلام للهدى الأصلي

واتبعنّ الآل الكرام بالرضا الكلّي

واتبعنّ الآل الكرام بالرضا الكلّي

Then invoke a blessing of peace upon the primal guidance,

And follow the noble family with complete contentment

And surely follow the noble household with complete contentment,

The flowers have not lost their fragrance, nor in the meadow does a branch grow green

ما زهت زهور الورود أو في الروض يخضرّ عود

ما زهت زهور الورود أو في الروض يخضرّ عود

أو بدا العيان في القرب من سنا الشهود

أو بدا العيان في القرب من سنا الشهود

As long as rose blossoms bloom, or a branch grows green in the garden,

Or clear vision emerge in nearness from the brilliance of witnesses

Or direct vision dawns in nearness to the radiance of witnessing.

And ask for an ending with beauty

واسأل الختام للخلّ

واسأل الختام للخلّ

اليافي بحسن الجنان

اليافي بحسن الجنان

And pray for a good end for the friend,

In the gardens of paradise

Al-Yafi, amid the beauty of Paradise's gardens.
