تبّت يدا من عقّ والده وتبّْ

فإنّه وماله وما كسبْ

May the hands of whoever is undutiful to his father perish, and may he perish!

Cursed are the hands that strike a parent, and cursed

For he, his wealth, and whatever he has earned—

Be he, his wealth, and all that he has earned,

إذ كان في وجوده هو السببْ

إذ كان في وجوده هو السببْ

وطالما ربّاه بالبرّ وربّْ

وطالما ربّاه بالبرّ وربّْ

since his father was the cause of his existence,

For he was the cause, since his birth,

and long he raised him with kindness and nurtured him.

And for long his parent nurtured him with kindness and care
