Adorn, O power of God, the Great, the Most High,

And enfold in kindness, beneficence, and manifest opening,

A destitute man, until he is seen among the sanctuary's noble ones,

Blessed, quenching the thirsty with an outpouring of grace,

As his growing hope tells him.

So take him into the mansions of the exalted firmament,

And he rose above lofty, unarmed Simāk.

And pity the longing of the enthralled, enamored lover,

Who was struck by the arrows of the Tihāman fawn's glances,

Wasted by love, he can no longer bear the heat of estrangement.

And his heart's purity is purest—by the Lord of al-Ṣafā.

He has worn away in patience; would that love had pardoned him.

So lift from him the mountains of reproach and reproachers,

And ask the dark-eyed young gazelle to turn toward him.

My master, whose cheek is ever like a dewy rose,

My joy-giver, Ṭāhā, from whom the roses seek bounty,

    Eloquent, he puts the midmorning sun to shame with his radiance;

He makes things clear; through him ignorance's darkness was erased from us.

Whoever seeks his sanctuary will not depart until granted bounty.

Extolling him is sweet to me, like smooth-flowing wine.

So unveil his fairest qualities for me, and do not stint.

    Come to us sincere,

And be confident in our pledge.

We shall give you a limpid cup to drink,

    Unmixed, purified of cloudiness.

    Salmā al-Saḥārī is revealed,

In the most radiant, exalted vision,

And she has adorned herself with jewelry:

A necklace of pearls and choice pearls.

Oh, how lovely is that beauty,

    Encompassing every kind of perfection!

Its beauty is too sublime for any likeness,

And beyond the grasp of sight.

So rise and muster your aspirations,

And set your course toward drawing near.

And graze in the sanctuary's gardens,

    And there pluck that fruit.

And in ecstasy vanish from existence,

And rejoice when witnessing grows sweet.

For the meeting is sweet to drink of,

So do not be among those who turn away.

    So enter pilgrim consecration, drink Zamzam, and touch the Stone;

    And embrace the beautiful Kaaba.

Oh, how fortunate the servant who has gained!

And make the pilgrimage with longing, and perform the lesser pilgrimage.

The universe, O you, is nothing but her.

So enter, and her goodness will encompass you.

    And when her birds sing,

They make you forget the melodies of the string.

If you wish to draw near to the path,

Come early to us; you will be served aged wine.

    Indeed, my affiliation with al-Ṣiddīq

Is confirmed, and I am ʿUmar.
