Stop, you two, at al-Ara'ik's winding sands in Suham;

Let us greet Rayah's dwelling with peace.
To greet the house of Rayya with peace,

Even if we do not cure the torment of love.
Even if I could not quell the passion within.

Distraught with love, besotted by remembrance?
Preoccupied with memories, impassioned?

Addressing it, but it begrudged me speech.
Addressing it, but it was sparing of speech.

Rayah's, effaced, the dwelling we approach?
From the ruined abode of Rayya that we frequent?

Soft in her coyness, ample of frame,
A soft carpet, bones wrapped up.
