إلى ملكٍ يجلو بثاقب رأيهِ
صداthe rust of الخطبadversity والصاديand the thirsty one برؤيتهat the sight of him يروىis quenched
صدا الخطب والصادي برؤيته يروى
To a king who, with his penetrating judgment, polishes away
the rust of adversity; the thirsty are quenched at the sight of him.
فكمfor many منof أخىone afflicted with فقرٍpoverty نفىbanished باسمهby his name الطوىhunger
فكم من أخى فقرٍ نفى باسمه الطوى
وكمand many مَهمَهٍa trackless wilderness قَفرٍbarren إلىto بابهhis door يُطوىis traversed
وكم مَهمَهٍ قَفرٍ إلى بابه يُطوى
For many a man in poverty has banished hunger by invoking his name,
and many a barren wilderness is traversed to reach his door.
