وَيَومٍ بِحَولايا فَضَضتُ جُموعَهُم

وَيَومٍ بِحَولايا فَضَضتُ جُموعَهُم

وَأَفنَيتُ ذاكَ الجَيشَ بِالقَتلِ وَالأَسرِ

وَأَفنَيتُ ذاكَ الجَيشَ بِالقَتلِ وَالأَسرِ

And on a day at Hawlaya, I scattered their hosts,

And one day I broke their armies

and annihilated that army through killing and capture.

And destroyed that host with killing and capture

فَقَتَّلتُهُم حَتى شَفيتُ بِقَتلِهِم

فَقَتَّلتُهُم حَتى شَفيتُ بِقَتلِهِم

حَرارَةَ نَفسٍ لا تَذِلُّ عَلى القَسرِ

حَرارَةَ نَفسٍ لا تَذِلُّ عَلى القَسرِ

Then I slaughtered them until, by killing them, I quenched

So I killed them until I healed with their killing

the burning of a soul that will not bow to coercion.

The heat of a soul that does not submit to compulsion

وَمِن شيعَةِ المُختارِ قَبلُ شَفَيتُها

وَمِن شيعَةِ المُختارِ قَبلُ شَفَيتُها

بِضَربٍ عَلى هاماتِهِم مُبطِلِ السِّحرِ

بِضَربٍ عَلى هاماتِهِم مُبطِلِ السِّحرِ

And earlier I had soothed it at the expense of al-Mukhtar's followers,

And the Shiites of al-Mukhtar, I had healed it before

with blows upon their heads that dispelled sorcery.
