مَن يُطلِعُ صاحبي عَلى أَوصابي
مَنwho يُبلِغُهُwill convey to him رِسالَةًa message منfrom صابِa yearning lover
مَن يُبلِغُهُ رِسالَةً من صابِ
Who will tell my companion of my afflictions?
Who will convey to him a message from a yearning lover?
ذاthis عيشيَmy life رُدَّhas been made شهدُهُits honey كالصابِlike bitter sap
ذا عيشيَ رُدَّ شهدُهُ كالصابِ
ماnot أَثَّرَhad an effect نصحُthe counsel مَنone who أَوصىurged kindness بيtoward me
ما أَثَّرَ نصحُ مَن أَوصى بي
This is my life: its honey has been made like bitter sap.
The counsel of one who urged kindness toward me had no effect.
