بِالمِسكِwith musk مَتىwhenever عدلتُI equated ذاكَthat الشَعَراhair
بِالمِسكِ مَتى عدلتُ ذاكَ الشَعَرا
منfrom ذاكَthat تَلوّىit writhed وَبِذاكَand because of that اِنكَسَراit broke
من ذاكَ تَلوّى وَبِذاكَ اِنكَسَرا
Whenever I equated that hair with musk,
it writhed at that and was broken by it.
إِنeven if يَجمَعناunites us الطيبُfragrance عَلىaccording to ماwhat ذَكَرواthey said
إِن يَجمَعنا الطيبُ عَلى ما ذَكَروا
لَكِنّيَbut I قَدindeed جِئتُI have come بِفَرقٍwith a distinction ظَهَراbecame apparent
لَكِنّيَ قَد جِئتُ بِفَرقٍ ظَهَرا
Even if fragrance unites us, as they have said,
yet I have brought forth a clear distinction.
