O you who efface the signs of the rose's beauty,

O penman of the verses of the rose's beauty

O you who shame the ladies of the rose's bridal chambers,

O exposer of the doe-eyed maidens of the rose

في الحَول تَزورني وَتَمضي عَجَلاً

ما وَصلُكَ إِلّا كَوِصال الوردِ

ما وَصلُكَ إِلّا كَوِصال الوردِ

Each year you visit me and depart in haste;

Throughout the year you visit me and quickly pass

Union with you is only like union with the rose.
