قَد خِفتُ من الزَمان فاربط جاشي
O you at whose side the fearful seek refuge,
O you in whose side the fearful take refuge,
I have grown afraid of time; so steady my heart.
I fear the times, so tie my saddle tight.
ماwhat ضَرَّwould harm سناradiance الشارِقِthe rising sun يَنبَثُّspreads ضُحىat midmorning
ما ضَرَّ سنا الشارِقِ يَنبَثُّ ضُحى
لَوif مَنَّgraciously bestowed عَلىupon الذُرَّةِthe grain بالإِنعاشِwith renewed life
لَو مَنَّ عَلى الذُرَّةِ بالإِنعاشِ
What harm would befall the rising sun's radiance, spreading at midmorning,
No harm in the shining sun spreading daylight,
If it graciously bestowed new life upon the grain?
If it would shower mercy on the atoms.
