لَيلَO night السَذَقِof Sadhaq اِشتَهرتَyou became renowned فيin الآفاقِthe horizons
لَيلَ السَذَقِ اِشتَهرتَ في الآفاقِ
أَعديتَyou lent aid عَلىagainst العشيِّthe evening للإِشراقِto radiance
أَعديتَ عَلى العشيِّ للإِشراقِ
O night of Sadhaq, you have become renowned across the horizons.
You lent aid to radiance against the evening.
أَطلعتyou brought forth ولاand not الصُبحُdawn لعمريby my life سَكَناًa fire
أَطلعت ولا الصُبحُ لعمري سَكَناً
قَدalready أَضمَرَهُconcealed it within أَفئِدَةُhearts العشّاقِof the lovers
قَد أَضمَرَهُ أَفئِدَةُ العشّاقِ
You brought forth—unlike dawn, by my life—a fire
That lovers’ hearts had concealed.
