I have no escape from your tresses’ wing of darkness.
Far from nocturnal shade your branch bears me no escape
That deep darkness has veiled the dawn from me.
Morning has veiled me from your disappearance, O absconder!

قالوا مُطِرَ اليَوم بَنَوءِ العَقرَب
When this sidelock of yours drowned me in tears,
When did your cheek’s flowing stream immerse me in tears?
They said, “Today it rained with the Scorpion’s setting.”
They said: today it rained from the Hyades’ rain bucket.
