لا عَن قَفص الجِسم مَطاراً أَجِدُ

لا عَن قَفص الجِسم مَطاراً أَجِدُ

لا فيهِ مَع الشَوقِ قَراراً أَجِدُ

لا فيهِ مَع الشَوقِ قَراراً أَجِدُ

I find no way to fly from the body's cage.

I could not escape the cage of my body

With longing, I find no rest within it.

Nor find rest there for my longing

مِن نفسيَ إِذ لَستُ فراراً أَجِدُ

مِن نفسيَ إِذ لَستُ فراراً أَجِدُ

مِن أَينَ على البعد مَزاراً أَجِدُ

مِن أَينَ على البعد مَزاراً أَجِدُ

Since I find no escape from myself,

Since I cannot escape myself

where, from afar, can I find a place to visit?

How can I find solace in distance?
