How often I said, as the pang of longing for you flared:
How often did I say, and longing's agony for you raged -
Here I am, O summons of my yearning, here I am!
I'll not undo love's collar from my neck -
لاnot أَخلَعI remove ربقةَthe halter الهَوىof love عَنfrom عُنُقيmy neck
لا أَخلَع ربقةَ الهَوى عَن عُنُقي
ماas long as وُشِّحَare adorned بِالطَوقwith the collar حَماماتُthe doves الأيكof the grove
ما وُشِّحَ بِالطَوق حَماماتُ الأيك
I will not remove love's halter from my neck
No doves about their necks have rings like mine.
As long as the doves of the grove are adorned with collars.
