قَد أَشرَقَ في الدُجى شعاعُ الفَجرِ

قَد أَشرَقَ في الدُجى شعاعُ الفَجرِ

واِمتَدَّ إِلى الظَلامِ باعُ الفَجرِ

واِمتَدَّ إِلى الظَلامِ باعُ الفَجرِ

Dawn's ray has already shone in the darkness.

The dawn's first gleam has streaked the gloom of night

And dawn's reach has extended into the darkness.

And the morning light crept forth into the night

لا تَلهُ عَن المُدام واملأ قَدَحاً

لا تَلهُ عَن المُدام واملأ قَدَحاً

يَنحَطُّ بِضَوئِهِ قِناعُ الفَجرِ

يَنحَطُّ بِضَوئِهِ قِناعُ الفَجرِ

Do not neglect the wine, and fill a goblet

Fill not thy cup, the wine will wait; oh haste

By whose light the veil of dawn descends.

To watch the veil of darkness lose its might
