دونَ ذَوي الخلاف سَدُّ السَيفِ

إِن أَلقَهُمُ وُرِّدَ حَدَّ السَيفِ

إِن أَلقَهُمُ وُرِّدَ حَدَّ السَيفِ

Before those who dissent stands the sword’s barrier.

Without conflict, the sword is sheathed

If I meet them, the sword’s edge is dyed red.

If I meet them and the sword's edge is turned away

إِن أَحوِ رَغائِباً وَأَدفَع نُوَباً

إِن أَحوِ رَغائِباً وَأَدفَع نُوَباً

فالجامِع وَالمانِع حَدُّ السَيفِ

فالجامِع وَالمانِع حَدُّ السَيفِ

If I gain coveted things and ward off calamities,

If I avert calamities and drive away sins

Then the sword’s edge is both gatherer and repeller.

The uniter and preventer is the sword's edge
