Ask the enchantress of graceful form—she has settled in my heart.
Ask the shapely enchantress who has settled in my heart:
In love, blood has been spilled—was it lawful?
In love, blood has been shed—was it lawful?

I swear by her: never did she fasten a sash
I swore by her: she never tied a girdle
without the hard-twisted cords of my endurance coming undone.
Without untying the cords of my endurance.
