لعلَّ صُروفَ النفسِ صحَّ عليلُها

Perhaps, amid the soul’s vicissitudes, its ailing self has recovered,
Perhaps the turning of the soul has cured its sickness,
And its faults have vanished and its worries have receded,
And its pains have passed and its worries have gone.
وعلَّand perhaps لياليthe nights of البُؤسmisery كفَّceased ظلامُهاtheir darkness
وعلَّ ليالي البُؤس كفَّ ظلامُها

وأَشرقَ فيها بدرُها ونُجومُها
And perhaps the darkness of the nights of misery has ceased,
And the darkness of nights of misery has been dispelled,
And their full moon and stars have shone within them.
As its full moon and stars begin to shine.
