يا مَن أضلَّ السعيَ خُذ لكَ مُرشِداً

يا مَن أضلَّ السعيَ خُذ لكَ مُرشِداً

وبهِ إذا رمُتَ الرشادَ استرشدِ

وبهِ إذا رمُتَ الرشادَ استرشدِ

O you who have misdirected your striving, take yourself a guide.

O you who lost the way in your endeavor, take a guide for yourself

And when you desire right guidance, seek it through him.

And when you intend guidance, be guided by him

وإذا أردتَ السيرَ في سُبُلِ الهُدَى

وإذا أردتَ السيرَ في سُبُلِ الهُدَى

فاجعَل هذيذكَ في كِتابِ المُرشِدِ

فاجعَل هذيذكَ في كِتابِ المُرشِدِ

And when you wish to walk in the paths of guidance,

And when you want to tread the path of righteousness

then let your meditation be on the guide’s book.

Make your murmurings be in the book of the guide
