If the Indian blade unjustly drinks the blood of humankind,
If the Indian sheds the blood of people unjustly
It ought to be seen in its sheath, undrawn.
It is fitting that his sword should not be drawn from its scabbard

And if a person's hand one day inclines toward bribes,
And if the palm of a man inclines one day to bribery
Then, oh, if only that hand were stricken with paralysis!
Oh, would that such a palm were struck off at the wrist!
