How strange—a tyrant spreading corruption among humankind,

eager for every abomination and corrupt deed!

No wonder he has grown accustomed to corruption, for

the tyrant has been given over to corrupt perception.

A rule has come to prevail: the hypocrite’s market thrives

through his hypocrisy, while righteousness is least in demand.

So resolve is ailing, and one’s nature inclines

toward evil; and Satan is the greatest envier.
