From the flourishing lifetime in which it became renowned

Among mankind for his benefactions and noble deeds.

Among the desert for its comforts and relics

تَمَّت محاسنُهُ فيرنو ناظرٌ

تَمَّت محاسنُهُ فيرنو ناظرٌ

في حُسنِ مَبناهُ ويخسأُ ناظرُ

في حُسنِ مَبناهُ ويخسأُ ناظرُ

Its beauties are complete: one onlooker gazes

Its perfections were completed, so a viewer will desire

At the beauty of its structure, while another recoils abashed.

To look on the beauty of its structure, while another will be downcast

لمَّا بناهُ الشيخُ ظاهرُ عَنوةً

لمَّا بناهُ الشيخُ ظاهرُ عَنوةً

اعناهُ تاريخٌ بناهُ ظاهرُ

When Sheikh Zahir built it by force,
