لأفئدةِ النِّساءِ هوىً جديدُ

لأفئدةِ النِّساءِ هوىً جديدُ

ولكن ما لَهُنَّ هوىً قديمُ

ولكن ما لَهُنَّ هوىً قديمُ

Women's hearts have a new love,

For women's hearts there is ever new desire,

But they have no old love.

Yet none of them an old love doth retain.

يزورُ قلوبَهنَّ الحُبُّ ضيفاً

يزورُ قلوبَهنَّ الحُبُّ ضيفاً

على قدَمِ الرَّحيلِ فلا يقيمُ

على قدَمِ الرَّحيلِ فلا يقيمُ

Love visits their hearts as a guest,

Love visits their hearts as a guest, then goes-

With a foot poised for departure, and so it does not stay.

On travelling bent, it doth not long remain.
