للعِلمِ داراً إمامُ الفضلِ والكَرَمِ

Under the protection of our Sultan Abd al-Aziz, he built

a house for learning—the paragon of virtue and generosity.

The leader of virtue and generosity built

أعني غِرِيغورِيُسْ راعي الرُّعاةِ لنا

أعني غِرِيغورِيُسْ راعي الرُّعاةِ لنا

والبطرِيَرْكَ الكريمَ النَّفسِ والشِيَّمِ

والبطرِيَرْكَ الكريمَ النَّفسِ والشِيَّمِ

I mean Gregorius, our shepherd of shepherds,

A home for knowledge, I mean Gregory

and the patriarch, noble in soul and character.

The noble patriarch, generous and principled

أقامَها ويمينُ الله تعضُدُهُ

منارةً أشبَهَت ناراً على عَلَمِ

He erected it, with God's right hand supporting him,

فانظرْ ترى طَيَّها تأريخَ مدرسةٍ

في أُمَّةِ الشَّرق كالمصباحِ في الظُّلَمِ
