هذا مَقامُ السيِّدِ العَلَمِ الذي

هذا مَقامُ السيِّدِ العَلَمِ الذي

وَرِثَ الكمالَ عن الأميرِ السيِّدِ

وَرِثَ الكمالَ عن الأميرِ السيِّدِ

This is the resting place of the illustrious lord who

This is the abode of the lord, the learned scholar

inherited perfection from the noble emir,

Who inherited perfection from the noble lord

نسْلِ التَّقِيِّ الدِّينِ عُمدةِ قومِهِ

نسْلِ التَّقِيِّ الدِّينِ عُمدةِ قومِهِ

قاضِي البلادِ الصالحِ المُتعبِّدِ

قاضِي البلادِ الصالحِ المُتعبِّدِ

a descendant of Taqi al-Din, the mainstay of his people,

The lineage of the pious, the religion's pillar

the judge of the land, righteous and devout.

The righteous judge of the lands, the devout worshipper

قد كان للقُصَّادِ في أيَّامِهِ

قد كان للقُصَّادِ في أيَّامِهِ

رُكناً وللوُرَّادِ أعذَبَ مَورِدِ

رُكناً وللوُرَّادِ أعذَبَ مَورِدِ

In his days, he was indeed, for those who sought him,

In his days he was a pillar for the beggars

a pillar, and for those who came to drink, the sweetest spring.

And the sweetest spring for the visitors

ولقَد ثَوى يوماً برَحمةِ رَبِّهِ

ولقَد ثَوى يوماً برَحمةِ رَبِّهِ

في قُبَّةٍ لاحتْ لنا كالمشهَدِ

في قُبَّةٍ لاحتْ لنا كالمشهَدِ

And indeed, one day he came to rest in his Lord’s mercy,

One day he passed away by the mercy of his Lord

within a dome that appeared to us like a shrine.

In a dome that shone for us like a shrine

صَلَّى مؤرِّخُها وبارَكَ قائلاً

صَلَّى مؤرِّخُها وبارَكَ قائلاً

حَيَّاكَ يا مَن زارَ قُبَّةَ أحمدِ

حَيَّاكَ يا مَن زارَ قُبَّةَ أحمدِ

Its chronicler prayed and invoked blessings, saying:

“May God bless you, O you who visit Ahmad’s dome!”
