لقد شادَها الحبرُ الجليلُ أغابِيُسْ

لقد شادَها الحبرُ الجليلُ أغابِيُسْ

يرومُ بها مِن ربِّهِ الفَوزَ بالأجرِ

يرومُ بها مِن ربِّهِ الفَوزَ بالأجرِ

The venerable cleric Agapius has indeed raised it,

Indeed, the venerable prelate Agapius built it.

hoping thereby to win his Lord’s reward.

Through it he seeks to win reward from his Lord.

فبادِرْ إليها في الصَّباحِ مؤرِّخاً

فبادِرْ إليها في الصَّباحِ مؤرِّخاً

وأهدِ بها أزكى سلامٍ إلى الخِضْرِ

وأهدِ بها أزكى سلامٍ إلى الخِضْرِ

So hasten to it in the morning, dating it thus:

So hasten to it in the morning, recording the date,

“And through it send the purest greeting to al-Khidr.”

And there offer the purest greeting to al-Khidr.
