مَضَى كاهنُ اللهِ العَليِّ ابنُ داغرٍ

مَضَى كاهنُ اللهِ العَليِّ ابنُ داغرٍ

إلى العرشِ مَسروراً بغايتِهِ القُصَوى

إلى العرشِ مَسروراً بغايتِهِ القُصَوى

The priest of God Most High, Ibn Dagher, has departed

The high priest of God, Son of Daghr, has passed away

To the Throne, rejoicing in his ultimate goal.

To the throne, blissful of his highest aspiration.

يُناديهِ شعبُ اللهِ يا بُطرُسُ الصَّفا

يُناديهِ شعبُ اللهِ يا بُطرُسُ الصَّفا

ويَدعُو بهِ التاريخُ يا صخرَةَ التَّقوَى

ويَدعُو بهِ التاريخُ يا صخرَةَ التَّقوَى

God’s people call to him: “O Peter, the Rock!”

The people of God call him, “O pure Peter,”

And history hails him: “O rock of piety!”

And history invokes him, “O rock of piety.”
