ولَّى سليمٌ نحوَ عيسَى جَدِّهِ

ولَّى سليمٌ نحوَ عيسَى جَدِّهِ

والنَّفسُ طارت نحو عيسَى ربِّهِ

والنَّفسُ طارت نحو عيسَى ربِّهِ

Salim departed toward Isa, his grandfather,

Suleiman turned toward Jesus his grandfather

And the soul flew toward Jesus, his Lord.

And his soul soared toward Jesus his Lord

قد ذاقَ مِن كأسِ الخلاصِ كما اشتهَى

قد ذاقَ مِن كأسِ الخلاصِ كما اشتهَى

ماءَ الحياةَ مُنَعَّماً في شُربِهِ

ماءَ الحياةَ مُنَعَّماً في شُربِهِ

He has tasted from the cup of salvation, as he desired,

He had tasted from the chalice of salvation as he wished

The water of life, blissful as he drank it.

Drinking the water of life, delighted in his drinking

فإذا أرَدتَ لعلمِهِ التَّاريخَ قُلْ

فإذا أرَدتَ لعلمِهِ التَّاريخَ قُلْ

أعطاهُ ربُّ العرشِ شهوَةَ قلبِهِ

أعطاهُ ربُّ العرشِ شهوَةَ قلبِهِ
