أبدَى محمَّدُ دَيَّةٍ بزَفَافِهِ

يوماً نَهارُ العيد مِنهُ قد استحَى

Muhammad Dayya brought forth through his wedding

a day before which the daylight of the feast blushed.

يا حبَّذا يومٌ على بدرِ الدُّجَى

يا حبَّذا يومٌ على بدرِ الدُّجَى

في سعدِ تأريخٍ جلا شمسَ الضُّحَى

في سعدِ تأريخٍ جلا شمسَ الضُّحَى

How splendid a day for the full moon of night—

in an auspicious chronogram, it unveiled the midmorning sun!
