يزولُ الشَّرُّ مثلَ الخير عنَّا

فلا هذا ولا هذا يدومُ

فلا هذا ولا هذا يدومُ

Evil passes from us, just as good does;

Evil passes away just as good does not last for us

so neither this nor that endures.

سَوادُ اللَّيلِ يَعقُبُهُ بَياضٌ

سَوادُ اللَّيلِ يَعقُبُهُ بَياضٌ

وهُوجُ الرِّيحِ يَعقُبُها النَّسيمُ

وهُوجُ الرِّيحِ يَعقُبُها النَّسيمُ

The blackness of night is followed by whiteness,

The blackness of night is followed by the whiteness

and the wind's violent gusts are followed by the breeze.

And the blustering wind is followed by the breeze
