مَضى إلى الله مَن طابتْ سريرتُهُ

مَضى إلى الله مَن طابتْ سريرتُهُ

باللهِ وهْوَ بعفوِ اللهِ مصحوبُ

باللهِ وهْوَ بعفوِ اللهِ مصحوبُ

He whose inner heart was pure has gone to God;

He who had a pure heart has passed away

by God, he is accompanied by God's pardon.

With Allah's mercy draped around him as his shroud

فقُلْ لِمن جاءَ في التأريخِ يطلبُهُ

فقُلْ لِمن جاءَ في التأريخِ يطلبُهُ

قد صارَ في حِضنِ إبراهيمَ يعقوبُ

قد صارَ في حِضنِ إبراهيمَ يعقوبُ

So tell whoever comes seeking the date:

Say to those who come later seeking his name

Jacob has now come to rest in Abraham's bosom.

He rests in Abraham's bosom, like Jacob the proud
