حَنَّا سلامةَ بالسَّلامة قد مَضى

لنعيمِ ربٍّ في حِماهُ قدْ سَعِدْ

لنعيمِ ربٍّ في حِماهُ قدْ سَعِدْ

Hanna Salama has departed in peace

Hanna Salameh said goodbye with well-being, he is gone

To the Lord’s bliss, finding happiness in His protection.

To the bliss of a Lord under whose protection he was fortunate

ما زالَ مِن أهلِ الكَرامةِ والتُّقَى

ما زالَ مِن أهلِ الكَرامةِ والتُّقَى

يَسعَى بما يَرضَى الإلهُ ويجَتهِدْ

يَسعَى بما يَرضَى الإلهُ ويجَتهِدْ

He was always among the honorable and the pious,

He never ceased to be of the people of nobility and piety

Striving for what pleases God and exerting himself.

Striving for what pleases God and making effort

قد حلَّ في قبرٍ ملائِكةُ السَّما

قد حلَّ في قبرٍ ملائِكةُ السَّما

نَشَرَت عليهِ لواءَ نورٍ قدْ عُقِدْ

نَشَرَت عليهِ لواءَ نورٍ قدْ عُقِدْ

He has come to rest in a grave where the angels of heaven

In a grave where angels of the sky have alighted

Have unfurled over him a banner of light, fastened in place.

Spreading over him a banner of light that was hoisted

مِن فوقهِ التَّأريخُ جهراً ناطقٌ

مِن فوقهِ التَّأريخُ جهراً ناطقٌ

إنَّ المسيحَ بفضلِ يوحَّنا شَهِدْ

إنَّ المسيحَ بفضلِ يوحَّنا شَهِدْ
