نادَى الشُّقَيريُّ عبدُ اللهِ حينَ مَضَى

نادَى الشُّقَيريُّ عبدُ اللهِ حينَ مَضَى

هذا الذي كلُّ نفسٍ سوفَ تَلقاهُ

هذا الذي كلُّ نفسٍ سوفَ تَلقاهُ

Abd Allah al-Shuqayri called out as he passed away:

Al-Shuqairi called Abdullah when he passed away

“This is what every soul will encounter.”

This is the one every soul will meet

قد عاشَ في الناَّس محموداً على ثِقةٍ

قد عاشَ في الناَّس محموداً على ثِقةٍ

وقارَنَ الدِّينُ في الإقبالِ دُنياهُ

وقارَنَ الدِّينُ في الإقبالِ دُنياهُ

He lived among people, assuredly held in esteem,

He lived among the people praised for his loyalty

And faith accompanied his worldly life in prosperity.

And his religion accompanied his worldly success

أرضَى الإلهَ بمْسعاهُ وسيرِتهِ

أرضَى الإلهَ بمْسعاهُ وسيرِتهِ

في الأرضِ واللهُ في الفِردَوس أرضاهُ

في الأرضِ واللهُ في الفِردَوس أرضاهُ

He pleased God through his striving and his conduct

He pleased God with his efforts and conduct

On earth, and God pleased him in Paradise.

On earth, and God pleased him in Paradise

فَمنْ يزُرْ قبرَهُ مِمَّن يؤرِّخُهُ

فَمنْ يزُرْ قبرَهُ مِمَّن يؤرِّخُهُ

يكتُبْ بهِ اختارَ عبدَ اللهِ مولاهُ

يكتُبْ بهِ اختارَ عبدَ اللهِ مولاهُ

So whoever visits his grave, among those recording his death’s date,

So whoever visits his grave to date it

Let him write upon it: “His Lord chose Abd Allah.”

Writes by it "Abdullah chose God as his Master"
