Ah, would that I knew what you will bring upon me
Oh would that I knew what she will talk to me

Tomorrow, when absence and distance divide us,

With Umm Bakr, when departure draws near
In Umm Bakr's tent, when she draws near
To us, and then the spiteful are alone with her after I am gone.
And is left alone with her kinsmen after me.

Will she forsake me before those who are our foes,
Will she blame me, if they gloat, or will she keep true to her vow?
And so make them gloat over me, or remain true to the pledge?
