ما جاوَزت ناقَتي حَفلاً وَلا سَلَكَت

ما جاوَزت ناقَتي حَفلاً وَلا سَلَكَت

عَلى المَجازِ وَلا جازَت بي الهِدَما

عَلى المَجازِ وَلا جازَت بي الهِدَما

My she-camel did not pass beyond Hafl, nor did she travel

My she-camel has passed by no caravan, nor trodden

along al-Majaz, nor did she carry me past al-Hidam.

A road frequented, nor Ruined structures near which to wander.
