وما كان مذ كنا ولا كان قبلنا

وما كان مذ كنا ولا كان قبلنا

ولا هو فيما بعدنا كابن مسلم

ولا هو فيما بعدنا كابن مسلم

There has been none since we came to be, nor was there any before us,

Never since we came into being, nor before were we,

nor will there be any after us, like Ibn Muslim—

Nor shall we be in ages yet to come, like Ibn Muslim.

أهم لأهل الترك قتلا بسيفه

أهم لأهل الترك قتلا بسيفه

وأكثر فينا مقسما بعد مقسم

وأكثر فينا مقسما بعد مقسم

more grievous to the Turks in the slaughter wrought by his sword,

Keener still for the Turks to slay with his sword,

and more bountiful among us, allotment after allotment.

And apportioning more of our realm after each portion.
