تبسم الدهر عن حسن وإحسان

وصوب مزن الربا يهمى بهتان

وصوب مزن الربا يهمى بهتان

Time has smiled, revealing beauty and beneficence.

Time smiled at goodness and benevolence

And rain from the clouds over the hills falls in steady showers.

And directed the rain of sustenance to falsehood's drought

أيام عدل على الدنيا بزينتها

أيام عدل على الدنيا بزينتها

تزهو فلم ترها ومن قبل عينان

تزهو فلم ترها ومن قبل عينان

Days of justice, in their finery, over the world

Days of justice adorned the world with their beauty

Shine proudly; never before have two eyes beheld them.

They shone, yet eyes had not seen them before

عيناي قد ملئت نورا برونقها

عيناي قد ملئت نورا برونقها

وأصبحت في خيالاتي ووجداني

وأصبحت في خيالاتي ووجداني

My two eyes have been filled with light by their radiance,

My eyes were filled with light from their elegance

And they now dwell in my imaginings and my inner feelings.

And they became my thoughts and innermost feelings

إساءة الحادثات استبطنى نفقا

إساءة الحادثات استبطنى نفقا

فقد أظلك إحسان ابن حسان

فقد أظلك إحسان ابن حسان

O harm of calamities, hide yourself within a tunnel,

The cruelty of events dug me into a tunnel

For Ibn Hassan's beneficence has overshadowed you.

For the benevolence of the son of Hasan has darkened it

لاح الظلام ولاح السعد أجمعه

لاح الظلام ولاح السعد أجمعه

وأشرق البدر من إقبال عثمان

وأشرق البدر من إقبال عثمان

Darkness appeared, and good fortune shone in all its fullness,

The darkness shone and the happiness altogether shone

And the full moon shone with the coming of Uthman.

And the full moon rose from the accession of Uthman
