تَعَرَّضَ لي السَحابُ وَقَد قَفَلنا

تَعَرَّضَ لي السَحابُ وَقَد قَفَلنا

فَقُلتُ إِلَيكَ إِنَّ مَعي السَحابا

فَقُلتُ إِلَيكَ إِنَّ مَعي السَحابا

The cloud crossed my path as we were returning;

The cloud turned against me as we were turning back

The cloud blocked my path as we were returning,

so I said, "Away with you! Indeed, I have a cloud with me;

So I said, “With me is the cloud”

So I said, "Stand aside! For the true Cloud is with me."

فَشِم في القُبَّةِ المِلكَ المُرَجّى

فَشِم في القُبَّةِ المِلكَ المُرَجّى

فَأَمسَكَ بَعدَ ما عَزَمَ اِنسِكابا

فَأَمسَكَ بَعدَ ما عَزَمَ اِنسِكابا

so behold in the pavilion the king in whom hopes are placed!"

Smell in the dome the awaited King

"Gaze upon the hoped-for King beneath the royal dome,"

Then it held back, after resolving to pour down.

Who withheld, after resolved pouring out

And so it held back, though it had resolved to pour.
