إنّيindeed I am لغَيرِfor other than صنيعةٍa favor لشكورُindeed very grateful
كلاno indeed وإنand indeed سَواءكsomeone other than you المغرورُthe deluded one
I am indeed grateful, even without a favor.
Indeed I do not complain of the doing of one who is ungrateful
Indeed, I am grateful even without a favor shown,
No! Indeed, the deluded one is someone other than you.
No, though your equal treatment of me were delusive
Nay, while anyone other than you is deceived.
ماwhat ليwith me أرانيI see myself منكَfrom you تحتَbeneath سحابَةٍa cloud
ظمآنthirsty أستسقيI ask for rain وأنتَwhile you are مَطيرُrain-laden
Why do I see myself beneath a cloud of yours,
Why do I see myself in your presence like one suffering from thirst
Why do I find myself standing beneath your cloud,
Thirsty, asking for rain, while you are rain-laden?
Beneath a rain-cloud, seeking to drink, while you are a pourer of rain?
Thirsty, begging for a drink, while you pour down rain?
أنتَyou الأميرُthe commander وغيرُكُand anyone other than you المأمورُthe commanded one

You are the commander, and others are commanded.
You are the prince, the others are your deputies
You are the Prince, and all others are the commanded,
And even a great undertaking is easy for your bounty.
And mighty affairs in your striving are a little thing
And the greatest trouble, in your bounty, is but slight.
