وَفى لي بِأَهليهِ وَزادَ كَثيرا
And a moment was worth a lifetime to me, in the presence of one man
And a time that paid Fate's debt to me through one alone, / Who made up for all the world's kin and gave abundantly.
Who was worth all its people to me, and far more.
I drank to the splendor of the light upon his brow, / Amidst blossoms where the water's murmur meets the eye.

وَزَهرٍ تَرى لِلماءِ فيهِ خَريرا
I drank, admiring the radiance of his brow
Through him the people seem doubled—may I never lose him! / And my life, beneath his wing, became an age of ages.
And blossoms amid which you see the water’s murmur.

وَأَصبَحَ دَهري في ذَراهُ دُهورا
Through him, people became twice as many—may I never lose him—
And in his shelter my lifetime became many lifetimes.
