  1. لقد ذهب الصبا ومضى

    بتذكاراته الحلوة

    Youth has indeed gone and passed away,

    With its sweet memories:

  2. ليالي الغور والوادي

    وما فيها من النشوة

    The nights of the Ghor and the valley,

    And all the rapture they held.

  3. وشوقي للهوى العذري

    واريناه في هوة

    And my longing for chaste love—

    We buried it in a pit

  4. أجادت حفرها الأيام

    بين الكوخ والندوة

    That the days dug so skillfully,

    Between the hut and the assembly hall.
