May my father and mother be your ransom—how generous your hand!
By my father and mother, you are the most generous hand
And how faithful in covenant, and how pure you are!
And the most faithful to covenants, and the most righteous

By God, had they not pledged its covenant to you,
By God, if they had not made a pact with you
It would have been beyond mankind's power to make it fall to anyone but you.
The whole of humankind would wish for no other but you

Your enemy goes forth afraid; then, when he sees
Your enemy walks in fear, so when he sees
That you have the power to punish, he puts his hope in you.
That you are able to punish, he hopes for your pardon
