ياO أَهْلَpeople of صَنْعاSana'a وإنْand though كانَتْare أحِبَّتُناour loved ones
يا أَهْلَ صَنْعا وإنْ كانَتْ أحِبَّتُنا
فِيهاin it فإنَّthen indeed الإمامَthe imam الْمُرْتَجَىhoped-for فِيناamong us
فِيها فإنَّ الإمامَ الْمُرْتَجَى فِينا
O people of Sana'a, though our loved ones are
