عِزَّO glory الهُدَىof guidance دامَmay endure لَنَاfor us مِنْكَfrom you ماthat which

يَجْلُوdispels دُجَىthe darkness الخَطْبِof adversity بأَنْوارِهاwith its lights

O glory of guidance, may we always have from you what

كَمْhow many مُشْكِلاتٍperplexities سِرُّهاtheir secret غامِضٌis obscure

جِئْتَyou came لَناfor us مِنْهاfrom them بأسْرارِهاwith their secrets
جِئْتَ لَنا مِنْها بأسْرارِها
How many perplexities, their secret obscure,
How many perplexities with obscure secrets
have you brought us the secrets of!

تَسَتَّرَتْthey concealed themselves حَتّىuntil رَأتْthey saw مِنْكَfrom you ماthat which
تَسَتَّرَتْ حَتّى رَأتْ مِنْكَ ما
لاnot تَخْتَفيthey hide عَنْهُfrom it بأستارِهاwith their veils
لا تَخْتَفي عَنْهُ بأستارِها
