أَجَلُّ بِناءٍ شَيَّدَتْهُ الْخَلائِفُ
May the house of joy delight you, for it is
May the abode of joy delight you, for it is
the grandest building the caliphs have raised.
The finest building the Caliphs have erected,
وَيَهْنِكُمُand may it delight you بُسْتانُهاits garden فَهُوَfor it is جَنَّةٌa paradise

يُقَصِّرُ عَنْ أَوْصافِها الغُرِّ واصِفُ
And may its garden delight you, for it is a paradise
And may its garden delight you, for it is a paradise
whose radiant splendors no describer can fully portray.
Beyond what the eloquent can describe,

So neither the valley of Bawwān nor the Sogd of Samarqand
Neither the ravines of Bawan nor the plains of Samarqand
matches it; so let the discerning recognize the difference.
Can equal it, let the knowing acknowledge the difference.
