أَخَذْتُمَا الدِّيوانَ منْ طاقَتي

أَخَذْتُمَا الدِّيوانَ منْ طاقَتي

وفيهما أَعْياني الاحتِراسُ

وفيهما أَعْياني الاحتِراسُ

You two took the poetry collection from my niche;

I took from my power the treasury

And vigilance over them both has exhausted me.

In it my notables took precaution

يا آخذَ الدِّيوانِ مِنْ طاقتي

يا آخذَ الدِّيوانِ مِنْ طاقتي

وَلَيْسَ لي في طاقَتي الاِحْتِراسُ

وَلَيْسَ لي في طاقَتي الاِحْتِراسُ

O taker of the poetry collection from my niche,

O you who took the treasury from my power

And keeping watch is not within my power.

And I have in my power no precaution
