لَكَ الْبِشَارَةُ قَدْ قَالوا الرَّحِيلُ غَداً

لَكَ الْبِشَارَةُ قَدْ قَالوا الرَّحِيلُ غَداً

مِنْ ذِي السِّفالِ إلى ذِي جِبْلَةِ الْيَمَنِ

مِنْ ذِي السِّفالِ إلى ذِي جِبْلَةِ الْيَمَنِ

Good tidings for you: they have said departure is tomorrow,

You have the good news, they have said the departure is tomorrow

from Dhi al-Sifal to Dhi Jiblah in Yemen.

From the lowlands to the Yemen's mountain fortress

وَلَيْسَ ذَا عَنْ هَوىً مِنّي لِجِبْلَةَ بَلْ

وَلَيْسَ ذَا عَنْ هَوىً مِنّي لِجِبْلَةَ بَلْ

رَأَيْتُ جِبْلَةَ أَدْناها إلَى وَطَنِي

رَأَيْتُ جِبْلَةَ أَدْناها إلَى وَطَنِي

And this is not out of love on my part for Jiblah; rather,

And that is not out of my desire for the mountain fortress

I found Jiblah the nearest of them to my homeland.

But rather I saw the mountain fortress closest to my homeland
